G & L Beijer buys refrigeration wholesaler Uniechemie

REFRIGERATION wholesaler G & L Beijer AB has acquired fellow Dutch firm Uniechemie B.V., through its Beijer Ref business.
Uniechemie reports sales of just under £10m and has 46 employees.
The acquisition means Beijer Ref becomes Holland's largest refrigeration wholesaler with sales of £38m and more than 100 employees.

Holland becomes the business area's third largest market after Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Beijer Ref already carries out operations in Holland through its subsidiary Coolmark B.V.

A spokesman for G&L Beijer said 'Coolmark is strong within the ac and electronic components for refrigeration systems segments, whilst Uniechemie's particular strength lies in sales of refrigeration units, compressors and refrigerants.

'Uniechemie is a profitable company. The acquisition will have a positive effect on G & L Beijer's profit per share'.
