FRPERC's quest for new home yields results

SINCE its impending closure was announced earlier this month, the Food Refrigeration and Process Engineering Research Centre has been approached by five academic organisations offering it a new home.
Staff from FRPERC have already held initial meetings with four UK organisations and there are said to have been several more suggestions of possible homes that have yet to be followed up.

Based at the University of Bristol for over 40 years, the future of the research centre was thrown into doubt when the Dean of the University announced his decision to concentrate on 'core activities'.

He told FRPERC staff that the intention was to shut the facility on July 31, 2009.
