Staff at King’s Lynn-based Foster Refrigerator, dressed in pink and ate pink cakes on 23 October for ‘Wear it Pink’ day, a UK-wide fundraising event on behalf of the Breast Cancer Now charity, raising more than £500.
The event is the flagship fundraiser for the Breast Cancer Now charity, and sees businesses up and down the country asking staff to dress in pink and donate cash to help fun research into Breast Cancer.
Breast Cancer Now is the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, created by the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Catherine Harvey, HR Officer from Foster, said: “Yet again, the Foster team have done us proud! The wear it pink day always raises a smile, and more importantly some well-needed money to help Breast Cancer Now.”
Every year, the wear it pink campaign raises around £2 million during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, and since the first Wear it Pink event in 2002, it has raised over £27 million, thanks to the support around 7,093 schools, 39,964 workplaces and 8,256 homes and social venues at its last count.
