Fresh-Range.com is a new fresh food supplier that is reinventing food shopping, to bring produce to its customers in a faster, fresher way. To help make this happen, Cold Store Rentals has provided a large floorless chiller for the warehouse at its new premises.

Operating in Bristol and Bath, Fresh-Range sources and supplies local and fresh produce to the area. With the new chiller, the company is able to offer fast-track online services with a central hub; the chiller enables the fresh produce always to remain in the cold-chain, and is then delivered in hours, rather than in the days or weeks of normal supply.   

Richard Osborn, director at Fresh-Range, said “We’re changing how food shopping works for a lot of people, by bringing local produce to local people, fast.

“Because the food is delivered quickly, it’s so much fresher, which makes it more delicious and maintains a higher nutritional value.”

“Our chiller is positioned so that we can offload trucks, vans and tractors directly inside. We break down the orders, perform a product check, and then our high-tech systems allow us to pick, pack and dispatch to customer straight away; the turn-around is just hours.”

Cold Store Rentals was recommended to Richard from other food businesses locally, and was selected to install the refrigeration unit due to their high quality offering, location and availability to provide support and maintenance on a 24-hour basis.

Fresh-Range also supplies store-cupboard items so that it can offer a full grocery service, and already has plans to expand into every channel within the West of England, providing all types of food and drink to all types of customers. The business began as a retail outlet, and now additionally supplies to a growing portfolio of schools, caterers, and local shops.

Richard continued “We worked out the size of chiller based on current volume and fulfilment, and are already starting to fill it completely, so we’re actively discussing the potential to expand the modular unit already.

“The whole build process of the refrigeration unit was great; Steve Prior at CSR directly project managed and oversaw the project. It is not only a floorless chiller but a flawless build.”
