The FETA board has chosen Russell Beattie to succeed Cedric Sloan when he retires in September 2014.

After a successful military career, Mr Beattie was the chief executive of the John Smith Trust, working with various government institutions to promote good governance and leadership in former Soviet Union and Middle Eastern nations. He views his appointment as a further opportunity to take on a constructive and responsible role in what he sees as a vital part of British industry.
