Embraco’s extensive investment in innovation has led to the launch of Wisemotion, which it claims is the first oil-free compressor for household appliances in the world.

In the same way that the Fullmotion VES compressor paved the way for a more efficient use of space in fridge design, the linear architecture of the Wisemotion means it is half the size of traditional compressors. Moreover, since it is the first technology of its kind to operate without oil (the sole moving part uses the same refrigerating gas for lubrication). Wisemotion can operate in different positions, which means the compressor no longer has to be within the base of the fridge. These two features open countless design possibilities for refrigerators and save 20 litres of space inside the household appliance.

Traditional compressors turn on and off in order to maintain an average temperature, a concept long-since superseded by Embraco with the Fullmotion variable speed compressor. With the introduction of the variable cylinder, Wisemotion is able to keep the fridge at a constant temperature in order to better preserve foodstuffs and not affect their nutritional qualities.

These features make it a highly efficient compressor that saves energy (it is fully compliant with latest regulations and guarantees lower bills) and is very quiet, since the frequency of the sound produced remains constant during use, even when opening the door. This makes it up to 10dB quieter than many other compressors even when operating at maximum capacity.

Wisemotion was launched in Barcelona in April at ATMOsphere and is currently undergoing the definitive test and development phase to ensure the very best applications. Embraco says that Wisemotion marks the beginning of a new era in refrigeration that is more environmentally-friendly, quiet, more efficient and more flexible.
