EC gives go-ahead for Sanyo acquisition

EUROPEAN Union anti-trust regulators have given the conditional go-ahead for the purchase of Sanyo by its Japanese rival Panasonic.
The purchase was approval on September 29 by the European competition watchdog on condition that Panasonic sells certain battery production facilities in markets where the EC had identified competition concerns.
