ebm-papst to launch new EC technology seminars

Market leaders ebm-papst are to launch a new EC technology seminar series to be held at their Chelmsford HQ, and visitors to the ebm-papst stand at the Energy Solutions Expo on 7-8 October will have the chance to sign up for an exclusive, invitation only, special launch event.

The seminars, including a one hour presentation approved by the Construction CPD Certification Service, are intended to create greater awareness of the carbon saving potential of EC fans and motors. Potential which Geoff Lockwood, Technical Director at ebm-papst, believes is far from being fully exploited.

'Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) services can account for around one third of a building's total carbon emissions and are seen as a prime target for improving the energy efficiency of our building stock. Using EC technology instead of traditional AC motors can reduce the energy consumption of fans in HVAC systems by at least 30% and would seem to be an obvious starting point for energy saving. Despite this, the demand from equipment manufacturers is still predominantly for less efficient AC fans, so the message doesn't seem to be reaching the specifiers who select HVAC products.'

The briefings will be held in their new Client Centre which incorporates a product showroom and state of the art, air conditioned auditorium. They will cover current environmental legislation, a technical overview of EC motor technology and case studies covering the many advantages of EC driven applications in addition to pure energy saving.

The Energy Solutions Expo is being held at London Olympia on 7-8 October and ebm-papst will be on stand D110.
