Ebm-Papst to buy German gearbox company

GERMANY: Fan and motor manufacturer Ebm-Papst is to acquire the German gearbox manufacturer Zeitlauf.
The acquisition, which will take effect on January 1, is expected to lead to Ebm-Papst being able to offer optimised drive solutions comprising motor, gearbox and software-supported control technology.

Zeitlauf is based in Lauf, near Nuremberg, and is seen as a specialist for industrial gearboxes. With 280 employees, 25 of whom are trainees, Zeitlauf generates an annual turnover of around Euro33m.
