A settlement has been made concerning the unauthorised sale of patented R-422D retrofit refrigerant by Spanish refrigerant reseller Eccogas.
DuPont and Star Refrigeration reached the out-of-court settlement with Eccogas Refrigerants S.A. (Martorelles/Catalonia), regarding the sale of product R-422D not coming from DuPont or an authorised source.

Although further details of the settlement have not been disclosed, DuPont and Star acknowledge that the settlement will prevent any future unauthorised sale of R-422D by Eccogas.

Last month DuPont and Star also announced they were taking legal action in Italy against 'a major refrigerant distributor' for patent infringement on R422D.
