DuPont raises R22 prices again

DUPONT Refrigerants is raising the price of its R22 in Europe by 14%, effective with shipments from July 1.
The price hike of 12-14% (depending on packaging) comes four months after Dupont’s 25% rise on the refrigerant, which came into effect on March 1.

The refrigerant supplier said the price rise is driven by rising raw material, energy and transportation costs.

A shortage of fluorspar (mineral fluorite) used in HFC and HCFC refrigerants is in particular contributing to rising prices.

This year, Honeywell raised its R22 price by 15% effective from March 1, by 7% from April 1 and 7% from May 1 on all other refrigerants.
