Designed for the future: Daikin’s VRV 5 Series

Daikin continues to push boundaries in order to create more sustainable solutions, enhance performance in use and reduce its environmental footprint. In the spirit of the Paris Agreement, which tasks nations with reducing greenhouse gas emissions to net zero and limiting global warming by less than 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels, the business aims to be CO2 neutral by 2050.

As part of this goal, Daikin formulated its Environmental Vision 2050, which has three central commitments. Firstly, to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions generated throughout its products’ life cycle. Secondly, to create solutions that link society and customers, as the business works with stakeholders to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to net zero. And finally, using intelligent technology enabled by the Internet of Things, AI and open solutions, to meet the world’s need for air solutions by providing safe and healthy air environments.

Bringing these commitments to life will require three key stepping stones: a circular economy, smart use and innovative solutions.

It is clear that innovation within product design is a crucial step to achieving this vision of a greener future. The new VRV 5 S-series is the latest evolution in Daikin's portfolio development, which the business is striving to fully convert to lower GWP (Global Warming Potential) refrigerants.

Daikin's most sustainable solution yet, this all-round performer covers all mini VRV applications. Its market-leading real life seasonal efficiency and use of R32 refrigerant allows the VRV 5 series to offer superior environmental performance throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Fully optimised for installation in rooms as small as 10m2, its factory-mounted refrigerant response measures mean no additional leak detection is required. What’s more, thanks to the system’s ergonomic design, both installation and handling are simplified, with its wide access area enabling components to be easily reached within the low-profile single fan casing.

In use, the VRV 5 series delivers best-in-class design versatility, with sound pressure levels down to 39 db(A) and automatic ESP setting up to 45 Pa allowing for ductwork; while the intuitive online and voice controls, compatible with leading smart home technology, offer maximum user comfort.
