De'Longhi buys RC Group

DE'LONGHI has purchased a controlling interest in RC Lux, the holding company of fellow Italian chiller manufacturer the RC Group. The deal, which gives De'Longhi 83.3% of the business for Euro31m, follows the signing of a strategic alliance between the two companies in July.
With a turnover of Euro51m, the RC Group has three factories in Italy and employs about 200 people. It willl now become part of De' Longhi's industrial air conditioning company Climaveneta but each will continue to operate with their own brands and their own sales networks. RC products are distributed in the UK by Watford-based Excel Air Conditioning.
