DCI Refrigeration’s CO2 facility chosen as training venue

Eastleigh College’s Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Assessor Shaun Creech said: “Accessing DCI’s specialist facility is a great development for us and the industry. The dedicated training we can now offer is vital to ensure expert and safe design, installation and servicing of CO2 systems as the refrigerant is increasingly adopted for its environmental benefits.”

Eastleigh College has chosen DCI Refrigeration’s state-of-the-art CO2 test plant and training facility as the venue for its industry training courses for the greener refrigerant.

This makes the college the only training provider in the south east of England to offer CO2 courses as part of its specialism in training for the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

Two CO2 courses will use DCI’s Portsmouth base which is the second only facility of its kind in the UK. Both courses are available to would-be and existing workers in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

The first is a two day course in the Use and Safe Handling of Carbon Dioxide, which has been developed in conjunction with the British Refrigeration Association and The Carbon Trust.  The second course is the City & Guilds (6187-31) Level 3 Certificate in Carbon Dioxide (CO2).

Featuring a CO2-cooled convenience store mock-up, the venue was developed by DCI to enable ongoing test and refinement of its own specially-designed system and to provide an invaluable live training resource for refrigeration engineers.
