Dates for the diary

The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will take place from 23-25 January at London’s ExCeL

Plans for the fourth edition of the event are well underway, with a number of sponsors and exhibitors, including Toshiba, Lordan, Variohm Eurosensor, Thermofin, Jumo Instruments, Broughton Electronics, Greenmill Supply Company and First Choice Refrigeration Spares already signed up.

Event manager Karena Cooper is delighted with the response to the 2018 event, which has a new name and location to shout about. She says, “Exhibitors are booking early to secure the right location, to get a good price and to make full use of the exhibitor marketing packages are effective immediately.” The HVAC & Refrigeration Show is in a very unique position, she says: “Let’s not forget that it’s the only commercial HVACR event in the UK and we’ve totally refreshed it to meet the needs of the modern market.”

The ACR Show launched in 2012 as a biennial exhibition dedicated to all things air conditioning and refrigeration. By popular demand, the heating and ventilation sectors were included in 2016. “The new format worked so well that it made sense to formalise it by reflecting the additional sectors in the show title.” The ACR Show is now The HVAC & Refrigeration Show, which has widened its appeal to visitors and exhibitors alike. And the changes don’t stop there, coupled with a move to ExCeL in January 2018 at the request of the wider industry, all the signs are pointing to a very exciting event.

Commenting on the new venue, Karena says: “Moving the show to London allows us to tap into new markets and attract the European visitor. From an exhibitor point of view, 2018 will also be a key period for European companies to discuss future planning and projects with its UK customers.

The capital is well served by transport links making it easy to get to from anywhere in the UK and abroad. It’s also home to a number of large scale development projects, says Karena: “London is a smart city development area, with the Docklands and Elephant & Castle both earmarked for future projects.”

The 2018 HVAC & Refrigeration Show will attract architects, engineers, installers, contractors, consultants and end users from a range of sectors, from supermarkets to hotel chains. A staggering 85% of visitors to the 2016 event were responsible for making or influencing the purchasing decision within their organisation. Commenting on the high quality of visitor, Karena says, “The majority of visitors to our show have real buying power, and we are also lucky in that we attract those who specify products and services for future projects too.”

Besides a fantastic line-up of exhibitors, The HVAC & Refrigeration Show will feature CPD accredited programmes in two seminar theatres – the HVACR Theatre and the Training & Skills Theatre.

Both will offer a three day programme, with The Training & Skills Theatre, sponsored by Toshiba, featuring speakers from UK and European Associations, with the Institute of Refrigeration and WorldSkills UK presentations taking centre stage.
