Date overload spurs investment in cold stores

Six cold stores in Saudi Arabia dedicated for dates storage with a total capacity of 100,000 tons have stopped receiving any orders to take in more produce because they are full.

Many businessmen are therefore considering investment in cold stores in the region as the demand for storage capacity has reached as much as 300,000 tons, Mr Al-Twaijri said.
