Daikin's air conditioner wins global design award

DAIKIN Europe NV has won the International Forum's product design award for its newly introduced designer heat pump room air conditioning fan coil unit.

In its 56th year, the 2010 International Forum Product Design Award competition saw Daikin win the Buildings category for its Emura unit.

The Emura unit is a wall mounted, heat pump split unit, designed to suit any interior décor. Available in three classes with capacities from 2.5 to 5.0kW, Emura is finished in brushed aluminium or white plastic, Judges assessed Emura's design quality, workmanship, choice of materials, functionality, innovation, ergonomics and safety features.

The IF seal of excellence covers Emura's entire life cycle and the award will be announced at a ceremony on March 2 at the 2010 CeBIT Exhibition in Hanover. Daikin's product will remain on display in the International Forum pavilion in the Hanover Exhibition Centre until August 2010.
