Daikin UK sponsors November Green Housing Forum

Daikin UK is sponsoring the latest Green Housing Forum on Wednesday 25 November, which is set to focus on the theme of fuel poverty and renewable technology.

The forum will address efficiency targets for fuel poor homes and debate the cost benefits for social landlords meeting Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) requirements, as well as questioning how landlords can still deliver social return for customers.

With its presence continuing to grow in the social housing market, Daikin UK remains committed to contributing to the sustainability in housing debate – whilst addressing the ongoing issues of fuel poverty faced by many social landlords.

More than 320,000 households are living in fuel poverty in the UK, with many people in properties rated below energy efficiency band ‘E’. This means social landlords must work tirelessly to keep customers warm, whilst under pressure to make significant efficiency savings following the Government’s 1 per cent rent reduction announced earlier this year.

Starting in April 2016, social housing rents will be reduced by 1 per cent each year until 2020 – leaving housing associations to consider whether they can afford to continue investing in energy efficient solutions.

Hosted by Severn Vale Housing at its headquarters in Tewkesbury, the Green Housing Forum brings together social housing professionals working within asset management and sustainability roles to learn and debate, whilst sharing ideas and good practice.

Iain Bevan, southern sales manager for heating and renewables at Daikin UK, said: “We are very proud to be sponsoring the third Green Housing Forum, following the success of the last event hosted by Stafford and Rural Homes in March 2015 – which focused on how social landlords could increase take-up of the Government’s Domestic Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI).

“Attending delegates will hear thought-provoking presentations from a line-up of industry experts, and will have the opportunity to network, and tackle key questions set around the theme during a lively roundtables session.”

The Green Housing Forum will be hosted by Severn Vale Housing at its head office located at Shannon Way, Ashchurch, Tewkesbury, GL20 8ND on Wednesday 25 November, from 8:30am-1pm.
