Daikin UK makes series of key strategic appointments

Daikin UK has made a series of strategic appointments across its business to further support the industry in its journey towards decarbonisation.

George Derbyshire, Daikin’s regional business manager (South), said: “Daikin has made key changes to ensure we offer continued support to help developers, specifiers, contractors and installers realise Net-Zero and low carbon ambitions for their projects within the built environment.”

Among the key appointments to note, Matteo Dall’Ombra, takes on a new role as national specification manager. This builds on his 12 years of experience with Daikin and will see him develop and implement Daikin UK’s specification strategy.

Dall’Ombra said: “Our aim is to support designers and specifiers nationally to decarbonise their projects. With constantly evolving legislation and industry certification schemes such as Part L, UK Net Zero Carbon Building Standards, BREEAM v7 & NABERS, it’s important for Daikin to provide the data, systems and solutions to meet the needs of our clients.”

Meanwhile, Steve Molloy is now Daikin’s Sustainability & Commercial Solutions Manager. He is responsible for helping the industry realise sustainable solutions through the continued development and management of its Commercial Product Portfolio.

“The drive for energy efficiency in heating, cooling and ventilation systems has now been matched with industry appetite and evolving legislation to consider whole life carbon of systems and buildings. At Daikin our aim is to provide solutions which meet this need, providing data such as embodied carbon in the form of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) whilst maintain market leading efficiencies,” Molloy commented.

Finally, Sam Cannon, has been promoted to regional sales manager, Central London, taking responsibility for the central London team, overseeing the London specification sales team, the construction team and the M&E Division. Cannon said: “Our team is committed to supporting the construction and engineering industry in Central London. Understanding our clients’ challenges when it comes to decarbonising existing building stock in the capital, to meet both the needs of increasingly stronger end user Net Zero strategies and also Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards.”

Daikin UK’s strategic appointments further underpin the company’s commitment to low carbon solutions, along with key collaboration across the industry to provide more stringent data to provide contractors and developers with an accurate insight into low carbon heating, cooling and ventilation.
