Daikin UK appoints Tomoji Miki as MD

Daikin UK has appointed Tomoji Miki as its new managing director, effective from 1 January 2025. He succeeds Hiroyasu Ishikawa, who has been appointed as managing director of Daikin Central Europe.

Tomoji Miki’s experience in international markets, combined with his deep understanding of local cultures, positions him well to lead Daikin UK into a new era of growth. Throughout his career, Miki has consistently respected the local customs and business environments of each country he has worked in, while remaining dedicated to Daikin’s core principles of innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction. His leadership approach is tailored to each market’s unique needs, ensuring Daikin stays relevant and competitive globally.

Commenting on his new role, Miki said: “I look forward to meeting many of Daikin’s customers in the coming months to understand how we can develop and grow our businesses together.

“We see great potential in the residential and commercial markets. We would like to go back to basics: providing the best products, best services, and best technical proposals that the market demands. In the residential market, we are also looking to strengthen our service business.”

Mark Dyer will continue to provide support as deputy managing director, ensuring a smooth leadership transition.

Tomoji Miki’s career spans over 30 years at Daikin, during which he has worked exclusively in sales and held key leadership roles. His international experience includes 13 years in China, 7.5 years in Brazil, and three years in Malaysia. He also served as co-department manager of Daikin Europe’s Commercial DX SBU, further demonstrating his global expertise. In his roles as director of Daikin Malaysia and Daikin Brazil, Miki successfully drove growth by embracing both local business practices and Daikin’s global strategic vision.
