Daikin sales up

DESPITE a relatively depressed market Daikin Europe still closed its 2005 financial year with an 8% increase in sales over 2004. Recently released figures for Jan-Dec 2005 show that turnover reached Euro1,222m, an increase of Euro88m.
Growth was less than in previous years due to lower than expected sales in the residential market sector, particularly in Italy. High stock levels, a stagnant economy and weak consumer confidence saw Daikin sales fall 15% in an Italian residential market which shrank by 40% overall last year.
