DAIKIN, the UK's leading air conditioning manufacturer has entered the refrigeration market with Conveni-pack, a combined air conditioning and refrigeration system for forecourts and convenience stores.
Conveni-pack offers users reduced energy costs plus the benefits and economies of combined freezing, refrigeration and energy efficient heat pump air conditioning and qualifies for the enhanced capital allowance tax rebate.
Although Conveni-pack is in use in over 2,000 retail outlets in Japan and won a Japanese government energy efficiency award in 2003, it is only now that the unit has been made available in Europe.
The first Conveni-pack installation has been carried out by
Daikin Airconditioning UK in association with Ringwood-based Cold Service Ltd in the T & S Stores 'One Stop Shop' in Carlton in Lindrick, Notts. Energy usage on the site is being monitored around the clock to prove energy savings and reduced running costs and operating information is logged. 'Early indications suggest that substantial reductions in electricity consumption are being achieved,' states Cold Service managing director, David Brooks.
The installation comprises two 13.5kW outdoor condensing units, a
Daikin fan coil unit replacing an indoor overhead door heater, three ceiling cassette air conditioning units plus several third party manufactured refrigerated display cabinets.
