Daikin gets new md and a Corporate Clients division

DAIKIN UK has hired new senior executives including a new md and has created a Corporate Clients division.
Daikin UK has strengthened its operations with a host of new senior executives including a new md. Peter Verkempynck, former deputy managing director will take charge of the UK operations as managing director of Daikin UK.

A spokesman for Daikin said 'These high level appointments come at the same time as wider changes taking place within Daikin Industries HQ, where a new global business development team has been established to drive worldwide sales growth and expand Daikin's business portfolio'.

Shogo Ando, former managing director of Daikin UK's business operations is returning to Japan to play part in this new team.

The new Corporate Clients division, which focuses on providing service to its major clients, will be headed up by Mark Dyer as corporate clients manager.

Other senior appointments at Daikin UK are:

A former Glow-worm brand manager and southern sales director, Pippa Wibberley is now the commercial director of Daikin UK's Heating division (effective February 1, 2010).

Hideki Nishimura is now the commercial director of the Air Conditioning division, having previously worked for Daikin UK as general sales manager.

The man formerly responsible for Hitachi's Northern Europe Region Andrew McCubbin joined as marketing manager for Daikin UK on April 26.

Andrew has overall responsibility for marketing and engineering and will be providing leadership for technical training, product marketing and engineering staff.

Andrew Crown, branch manager for south London, joined Daikin UK on April 6 from Alpha Heating. He brings with him more than 14 years commercial experience in sales and marketing within the heating industry.

Mark Ashton, branch manager for Manchester and Leeds, joined Daikin UK on May 4, having previously held positions as Northern Sales Manager for Pierlite UK and country manager UK and Ireland for GE Consumer & Industrial (Power Controls).

Angela McGinlay, branch manager for Birmingham, also joined Daikin UK on May 4 from Eaton Electric where she was sales manager UK & Ireland.

The spokesman for Daikin added: 'The expansion of the Daikin UK team reflects expectations of significant growth in the HVACR and Renewables sectors and aims to enhance customer service and value, by providing higher levels of customer service throughout the regions'.
