Daikin formally opens first Czech factory

DAIKIN has now formally opened the first of its two factories in the Czech Republic.

The £40m factory in Plzen, which started production last year, currently produces around 2,000 air conditioninunits per day for the European and North African markets.

The factory employs 600 but this is expected to rise to 1,000 by the end of the year when a second shift will be introduced.

Meanwhile, Daikin's second Czech factory, in Brno, is scheduled to start producing compressors at the end of this year.
