Daikin CO2 unit picks up award

WITH other Far East ac manufacturers bringing CO2 systems into the UK how long before market leader Daikin follows suit?
Already available in some European countries, Daikin's CO2 VRV system has been receiving good reviews and recently picked up an award at the Enéo Energy, Climate Control and Water Management Exhibition held in Lyon, France.

Daikin's transcritical CO2 VRV makes use of a new Daikin dual compression swing compressor to handle CO2's high operating pressures. In addition, the system incorporates new optimised refrigerant circuit technology including a dual-stage inter-cooler circuit and a gas cooler with three-row heat exchanger for maximum heat exchange. Piping size has also been reduced compared to systems with conventional refrigerants.

There are no immediate plans to introduce the unit to the UK but Daikin UK is said to in discussions with potential end users.
