TECUMSEH Europe is launching the VSA range of 12 compressors and 12 air-cooled condensing units using scroll technology for high and low back pressure commercial refrigeration applications on R404A.
The range comprises compressors from 3.3kW to 11.1kW for medium temperatures CBP and 6.3kW to 21kW for high temperatures HBP. They are available in 50Hz, 220/240V and 380/420V and 60Hz, 460V.

This initial scroll range will be the first in the move towards increasing the breadth of the range up to 15hp.

The Tecumseh Group has been working for a long time to develop product ranges using refrigerants that are more environmentally friendly. In 2006, Tecumseh presented the first compressor to run on CO2.

However the market requirements still need to be consolidated and Tecumseh says that refrigerant manufacturers should seek new solutions that allow for easier maintenance and replacement.

Tecumseh offers products with low CO2 emission for domestic refrigeration using R600a and for commercial refrigeration using the hydrocarbon R290.

In parallel, Tecumseh is introducing R407C/R22 dual refrigerant RK compressors to enable the upgrading of compressors using R22 without having to change existing installations.

For installers this will mean time savings and for distributors, this will mean simplification by avoiding the need to stock both ranges of compressor.
