The inaugural Clivet 'Ryder Cup' brought together 62 golfers split into two regional teams: blue (representing south-west customers) and red (representing the south). The day saw friendly but fierce competition across the resort’s famous fairways, culminating in a dramatic twist.
Initially declared winners, the red team celebrated in style, with Team Captain Paul Williams taking a jubilant victory lap around the venue. However, a post-match recount revealed that the blue team had actually clinched the win. In good humour, Williams pledged to safeguard the trophy until the next showdown.
Matt Jenkins of Clivet, who hosted and organised the event, confirmed plans to make the Clivet Ryder Cup an annual fixture. With its blend of camaraderie, competition, and scenic surroundings, the event is set to become a highlight in Clivet’s customer calendar.
