Chinese man jailed for selling counterfeit refrigerant

CHINA'S State Intellectual Property Office has confirmed the conviction of a Shanghai man for selling counterfeit refrigerant.
The Shanghai People's Court of Putuo District has reportedly jailed the man for selling counterfeit refrigerants using Honeywell and Genetron registered trademarks. The man was sentenced to three years imprisonment, three years of probation, a fine of £3,000, and his company was additionally fined £20,000.
In June 2010, the convicted man is said to have printed Honeywell and Genetron trademark on refrigerants cylinders and package with a sales value of £48,000. Chinese authorities with the assistance of Honeywell subsequently recalled all the counterfeit refrigerants and imposed a fine of £130,000 on distributors.
