THE organisers of the breakaway Chillventa exhibition claim to have received binding pledges for 40% of the target 30,000m2 of space. Nearly 100 national and international air conditioning and refrigeration companies have registered for over 11,000m2 of space for the exhibition which will take place in Nuremberg in October 2008.
Formed by a group of exhibitors following a split with the owners of IKK, Chillventa is scheduled to take place just a week after IKK 2008 in Stuttgart.

'We are receiving new registrations almost every day,' said a delighted Walter Hufnagel of the management board of NürnbergMesse, Chillventa's organisers.

With the two shows going head-to-head for the hearts and minds of the air conditioning and refrigeration industry, neither of the two organisers appears to be ready to give way. Despite the prospect of shows just a week apart, both of the competing organisers originally maintained that only one show would eventually take place. This month was predicted as the watershed when one or other of the organisers would throw in the towel. With IKK boasting over 60 exhibitors before Christmas, this now seems increasingly unlikely.
