The two installations ar united by a shared element - Frascold's FVR-L series of screw compressors, chosen to meet the needs of customers and to meet their respective application challenges.
'This first chiller arose from the need of a company located in Mali, the eighth largest country in Africa, specialising in the production of fruit drinks. In order to best preserve its organoleptic qualities and freshness, a chiller was suggested to cool a glycol water cold room, benefiting from a high ease of installation and accurate humidity control,' said Giovanni Squassina of ASKI. 'Storage is in fact one of the important phases of the cold chain, in which it is essential to guarantee the total abatement of the product temperature, maintaining the right conditions for the integrity of the food itself.'
When asked what challenges have been overcome in this application, Nika Bagdasarian of Frascold said:'Thanks to the use of FVR-L compressors, the system can maintain a constant glycol temperature of -30°C, with an evaporation of -35°C, even during the hottest months, thus ensuring product quality and safety. Compared to previous models, the compressor has a 5% higher COP and is a guarantee of high energy savings. This result is also guaranteed by the use of an inverter which, with extreme precision, allows the heat load to be tracked in favour of a reduction in the number of starts and energy wastage.'
Mr Bagdasarian further spoke about the characteristics of the second chiller which was used for a pharmaceutical application: 'FVR-L compressors are an ideal choice for many uses, not least because of their wide range of cooling capacity. This second chiller is designed for fluid cooling load at -37°C. These form the key part in a production system. The system is equipped with two compressors characterised by step partialisation on two separate circuits, each with an economiser, for even higher efficiency.'
Mr Squassina added: 'The cooperation with Frascold started even before the foundation of A.S.K.I and I have been relying on their compressors for 35 years now. Quality, a customer-oriented vision and a passion for offering reliable, high-performance technologies designed ad hoc are elements that have always united us. Attention to detail tenaciously pursued by A.S.K.I. also through chiller testing carried out directly in-house: a further plus synonymous with high safety. The presence of highly experienced technicians, punctual assistance and rapid deliveries are the elements that certainly represent the successful collaboration of all these years with Frascold.'
