Chemours and Climalife win award

The Chemours Company, together with Climalife UK, won the Environmental Project of the Year award at this year’s ACR News Awards on 17 February in Birmingham.

The project was a cooperative effort between Chemours, Climalife UK, Ultra Refrigeration and Lincoln Co-op. It involved the installation of a new system using Opteon XP40 refrigerant from Chemours in a newly built Lincoln Co-op convenience store. Opteon XP40, which has very low global warming potential (GWP), is an alternative to high GWP HFCs such as R-404A.

The convenience store, located in Newark, is the first of its kind in the UK to use Opteon XP40 in a new store installation.

Diego Boeri, global business director for Chemours Fluorochemicals, said: “We are honored to receive this recognition and would like to congratulate our project partners Climalife UK, Ultra Refrigeration and Lincoln Co-op.”
