Taking place in Hall 9 at the NEC Birmingham from 16 – 18 February 2016, The ACR Show, organised by Datateam Business Media, will embrace the heating and ventilation sectors for the first time, making it a must-attend event for anyone who needs to get the most up to date information on the how the most recent and upcoming changes to the Energy Related Products Directive (ErP) will affect the m&e markets.

The directive in relation to commercial boilers is due to come into effect on September 26 this year.

Comprising Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Regulations, the directive will require boilers and renewable heating equipment to receive an efficiency rating.

The eventual result will be the effective elimination all inefficient products up to 400kW from the market.

This year manufacturers are actively preparing their products to be ErP-ready but they also need to prepare their customers for the transition.

The installer for one will have the extra burden of more paperwork, as he will have to provide a package label for the combined heating products installed.

The ACR Show in 2016 is expected to be an effective ErP hub that installers, contractors, specifiers and any other affected parties will not want to miss.

But ErP does not only affect boilers, it has implications for all energy related products, with regulations affecting components and systems in the commercial refrigeration and freezing sectors proposed for 2016 and beyond.

There will be discussion and information at the ACR Show on which regulations will affect contractors and end-users directly and indirectly.

The decision to include ventilation, heating and heat pump companies has been met with widespread positivity and created an early buzz about the Show. Event director, Paul Ryder described the move as a “natural integration”, with all five industry sectors already working closely together in today’s market.

The ACR Show is now in the unique position of being the only UK exhibition for the refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, heating and heat pump industries. Besides a fantastic line up of exhibitors showcasing the latest technologies, will be an informative and topical seminar programme in each of the three main seminar theatres.

Commenting on the increased investment from past exhibitors, sales & sponsorship manager Karena Cooper said: “Over 50% of our re-books are taking bigger stands in 2016. To be sure of reserving the best place, I’d advise companies to get in touch as soon as possible – it’s going to be a ‘must attend’ show for the HVACR industry.”
