Carrier to double Chinese investment

AWARE of predictions that the Chinese hvac market is to double by 2010, US air conditioning manufacturer Carrier has announced an investment of $50m in r&d in China over the next five years.
This will include a new r&d centre in Pudong, scheduled to be fully operational by 2008, and bringCarrier's investments in China to approximately $175m.

Carrier's Chinese interests currently include 13 operations and nearly 40 sales and service offices. Sales total nearly $500m from a workforce of more than 2,000.
