Carrier slaps up to 5% price rise on its UK products

CARRIER Corporation has announced a price rise of up to 5% on all Carrier products in the UK, effective immediately.
The company blamed global rises in the cost of raw materials for the air conditioning industry, including plastics, steel, energy and direct labour which put inflationary cost pressures on manufacturers.

'Carrier has been absorbing these increases through an intensive and ongoing programme of initiatives covering factory and distribution efficiency, supplier negotiations, component improvements and strategic purchasing actions, but we can't hold back the tide any longer,' said Richard Ward, Carrier Air Conditioning's UK commercial director.

The US firm is the world's largest manufacturer of heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, with operations in more than 170 countries and 41,000 employees.

Ward said Carrier, owned by United Technologies Corp, would maintain its high level of investment in efficient, competitive, innovative and green air conditioning solutions.
