Carrier buys Ambia and GT Concept
[firstParagraph]
CARRIER Corp has acquired Ambia and GT Concept, two French companies that design, develop and sell open protocol controls and building management systems for the HVAC market in France.
GT Concept develops software applications for building management systems and Ambia designs controls for terminal fan coils, chilled beams, lighting and blinds.
'This acquisition expands our existing operation, and will give us a stronger presence in the controls market in France and in other European countries in the near future,' said David Appel, president of Carrier Building Systems and Services EMEA. 'It also will provide us with significant opportunities to sell systems.'
With 2006 revenues of $13.5 billion, Carrier has 41,000 employees worldwide and operations in more than 170 countries. Carrier is part of United Technologies Corp.
