Buffaload Logistics appoints new sales director

Working closely with the board of Buffaload Logistics, Graham’s role forms an integral part of the expansion plan and is key to the ongoing development of the company’s diverse range of transport related services. These include specialist temperature controlled transport and distribution - using bespoke double deck trailers - trailer rental, perishable goods storage, vehicle servicing, courier logistics and logistics planning consultation.

Buffaload Logistics, the Cambridgeshire-based temperature controlled logistics operator has appointed Graham Usher to its sales and operational team.

With over 25 years’ experience in trailer sales, Graham is well known throughout the transport industry for his knowledge and expertise of the temperature controlled sector. His impressive track record includes senior sales and marketing positions with Schmitz Cargobull, Gray and Adams and Montracon.

Buffaload, a  family owned business with  15 years’ experience in the temperature controlled sector, is poised to enter an expansion period which will see 40% growth over the next two years. Plans include a new chilled & frozen cold store to increase current capacity and continued expansion of the vehicle fleet. Already underway is the addition of new cross-docking terminals at the company’s 16 acre Huntingdon headquarters.

Buffaload Logistics currently operates a sizeable fleet of trailers with over 60 of these being moving-deck temperature controlled double-deckers – all built by Gray & Adams. Many of these carry 44 standard pallets. The aim is to increase the double deck fleet to 90 units by the end of 2015, thereby forming one of the largest fleets of its type in the UK.

“Buffaload is renowned in the cool chain for our imaginative use of double deck temperature controlled trailers and our ability to dove-tail with individual customer operations” says Graham Usher “ Furthermore,  we have a well earned reputation for delivering considerable cost savings to our retail, food manufacturing & wholesale customers and  have seen savings of  up to 40%. Using double-decks cuts fleet requirements, reduces road miles and brings down carbon output.”

The company’s refrigerated double-deck trailer fleet is fitted with the latest temperature controlled and vehicle location tracking equipment, which is monitored and controlled from the Huntingdon traffic office. Additional satellite, cross- docking depots are located in Wigan and Avonmouth. There is also a further warehouse near Cambridge to cope with additional volume and seasonal demand.

“I’m delighted to be a part of this exciting company” adds Graham “We have a premium fleet, superb support services,  a wealth of transport and logistics know-how and above all, a flexible ‘can-do’ and caring approach  to meeting  our customers’ needs. This philosophy, underpinned by our considerable experience, lies at the heart of everything we do and forms the corner stone of our ambitious growth plans going forward.”
