BSRIA chief executive named honorary professor
Through a long and distinguished career at BSRIA, Mr Eastwell has gained a wide range of industry knowledge which he will use to support the School's recently established Royal Academy of Engineering Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Building Design. His appointment will strengthen the existing links between the School and BSRIA in research and knowledge exchange.

He said 'I have enjoyed a long association with Heriot Watt with the work surrounding the Carbon Vision project concluded some years ago. I am honoured to be appointed to this post where I hope I can add value to the important cross-cutting work of the School which aims to improve the cohesion between the various elements of the construction process'.

Professor Phil Banfill of the Centre of Excellence said, 'Low Carbon technologies and building services engineering are core to the Centre of Excellence and BSRIA's Members are at the forefront of developments in this important area. Andrew Eastwell's experience and his wide range of contacts will be a valuable resource for dissemination and industry/policy engagement.

'Our current range of Architectural Engineering courses are the fruit of an interest and expertise built up over 30 years and our association with BSRIA dates back over most of that time'.
