Increasingly, companies are looking at how BIM can help them to achieve their business aims. BIM can be a mechanism for making high quality information about an asset available from inception, through design, construction and operation to disposal. It enables better decisions to be made during procurement, and provides an improved level of data to the FM team. Efficiency can be improved by keeping accurate information on the installed asset and informing key decisions around strategic development plans. The new one day course will give clients a good understanding of the principles of BIM and will then demonstrate how to develop a BIM implementation plan. Topics covered will include the Government's perspective on BIM, the BIM implementation roadmap, identifying stakeholders and projects, process and commercial considerations, governance and risk. John Sands and Graeme Tappenham will present the course. John is a principal consultant and BIM lead at BSRIA and Graeme is an independent consultant and member of the UK Cabinet Office BIM Task Group. The course will be run at BSRIA's Bracknell office but can also take place at companies' premises at a time convenient to them. To find out more about the course contact David Bleicher on 01344 465589 or visit www.bsria.co.uk/goto/implementbim
