Bosch to acquire Fort Lauderdale

GERMAN manufacturer Bosch has acquired the American geothermal heat pump manufacturer FHP Manufacturing Company.
FHP, based in Fort Lauderdale, generates sales of around $51m a year and employs a workforce of around 220 people. One of the leading manufacturers of geothermal heat pump technology in the US, the firm was established in 1969 and will now be integrated into the Bosch Thermotechnology division led by BBT Thermotechnik.

Details of the deal and purchase price have not been disclosed. The latest deal follows the purchase by Bosch of Swedish heat pump company IVT Industrier in January 2005.
