GERMAN domestic boiler manufacturer Vaillant has turned its attentions to air conditioning.
Recognising what the company sees as a 'growing and untapped potential in the residential and small commercial air conditioning markets,' Vaillant has launched a range of single and multi-split heat pump systems, cassettes and high-wall units.
'We have been actively monitoring this industry for over four years,' said newly appointed air conditioning director Darren Finley at the launch in London last month. 'There is clearly an opportunity for select domestic heating installers to expand their businesses and take on more air conditioning work and we are ideally positioned to support them with our products and industry training.
'We are also working closely with specialist air conditioning contractors and offering them the technical back-up and service support our heating customers have enjoyed for many years.'
Its ClimaVair range is manufactured in China to Vaillant's specific design and using components selected by the company's own team of engineers. The product will initially be sold both direct and through Vaillant's current builders' merchant network.
'The range is fairly limited at the moment but our ambitions are somewhat bigger than that,' revealed Darren Finley, referring to plans to extend the range and introduce VRF systems next year.
