BITZER UK transfers production to Milton Keynes
[firstParagraph]
BITZER UK has announced the transfer of its refrigeration pack and pressure vessel production to Milton Keynes from its Grays site, as of December 31, 2009.
All production from Grays is being moved to newly acquired premises next to the existing Bitzer UK HQ.
The move will give the company twice the pack and vessel production floor space than it currently has. The company said this will allow it 'to implement process flow production techniques, resulting in vastly improved manufacturing efficiency'.
More production space will also enable the manufacture of larger plant such as combined pack and condenser solutions previously not possible due to space constraints.
Dave Paget, manufacturing manager at Grays will move to the new facility.
'The move will bring increased efficiency whilst also reducing our manufacturing overhead. This gives us the platform to further expand our successful refrigeration pack and pressure vessel business overseas and in the UK' said Bitzer UK managing director Mark Sowden.
The existing premises in Grays, Essex, was acquired by Bitzer UK in 2004, when it bought the site's owner Jerome Engineering (Vessels), a manufacturer of refrigeration compressor racks and pressure vessels.
