Bitzer expands facilities in the US

USA: Bitzer is expanding its operations in the USA, moving its scroll compressor factory in Syracuse to larger premises and building a new plant adjacent to its existing facility in Oakwood, Ga.
Moving the scroll compressor facility to larger premises a mile away in DeWitt is expected to cost $5.5m, will lead to more jobs and increase capacity. Bitzer only moved into its 60,000ft2 Syracuse facility - a former General Motors factory - in 2009. Increased demand led to the leasing of an additional 40,000ft2 last year.

The new 135,000ft2 factory is expected to become operational in the first quarter of 2013.

At the same time, Bitzer has started construction on a new 95,000ft2 manufacturing plant, located adjacent to its current 45,000ft2 factory in Oakwood, just north of Atlanta. The $10m plant is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
