Big Foot Systems’ rooftop building services support structures are now available to view and explore on bimstore at www.bimstore.co.uk.
The website, created by specifiers for specifiers, allows users to download manufacturers’ digital BIM content. This now includes Big Foot’s BIM objects, allowing simple visualisation of designs.
Since the UK Government mandated all projects tendering for Government work have to achieve Level 2 Building Information Modelling (BIM) by 2016 momentum is growing for BIM, making Big Foot’s addition to bimstore timely. By offering its BIM objects on bimstore, as well as the NBS National BIM Library, the company aims to ease the specification process for architects and specifiers and consolidate its position as a frontrunner with BIM.
Both Big Foot’s popular Light Duty and Heavy Duty ranges of freestanding framework systems and its Safe Access Systems all feature on bimstore.
Technical marketing manager Joe Rose said: “Although Building Information Modelling (BIM) is still relatively new, its use is accelerating and it looks set to become the mainstream method to design buildings which is why we have added our support systems to a second BIM library.”
“Big Foot Systems aims to be at the forefront of UK construction and sites like bimstore allow a wider range of specifiers to visualise our products and see the benefits that they can bring to projects. We are also making our internal systems BIM compatible, allowing us to export into the industry leading BIM software platform Revit, which is 4D BIM capable, further assisting specifiers using our systems.”
