BESA will host the 'Ventil8 Day Exchange' on 6 November in London, a full-day event sponsored by industry leaders like AIRO and Swegon. The morning session will focus on residential ventilation and addressing issues like mould, while the afternoon will be dedicated to commercial building solutions. The event will feature presentations, case studies, and a panel debate, with a keynote from Garry Ratcliffe, CEO of a multi-academy trust, who will share his personal story about how a ventilation system improved his family’s life.
Other speakers include Francesca Brady, co-founder of AirRated, who will discuss the link between indoor air quality and health. The global campaign, themed 'Collabor8 to Ventil8,' aims to provide practical solutions for facilities managers, engineers, and building professionals.
According to the World Health Organisation, poor indoor air quality is linked to 3.8 million premature deaths annually. Nathan Wood, who leads the WV8D working group, noted that awareness of ventilation’s importance has grown since the COVID-19 pandemic. Adam Taylor, chair of BESA’s Indoor Air Quality group, said that the event is a platform for sharing fresh ideas and fostering collaboration to create healthier buildings for everyone.
