Beehive Coils buys assets of rival ACR Heat Transfer

Administrators have sold the business and assets of ACR Heat Transfer, based in Kings Lynn, to its locally-based competitor Beehive Coils.
ACR Heat Transfer designed and manufactured copper piping-based air conditioning and heating equipment before the firm ceased trading, resulting in the loss of staff jobs. Geoff Kinlan and William Turner from BDO LLP were appointed joint administrators for the firm on September 16.

William Turner, business restructuring director, said: 'Due to the economic climate and difficult trading conditions the company ceased to trade shortly before our appointment. We are pleased that a sale of the business and assets has been completed.'

Beehive Coils is a family-run air conditioning and heat transfer product manufacturer based in Newmarket, Suffolk. It was founded in 1968 by Frederick J. Bartram, who is currently the chairman of Beehive Coils.
