ASHRAE UK gets positive feedback at ACR Show

ASHRAE UK Midlands Sector president Steve Gill (pictured below) says he is delighted by the interest generated through its stand at the ACR Show in February.

He said: “It proved to be a great opportunity to meet industry members face-to-face and make them aware of the new ASHRAE group in the UK and to discuss with them the benefits of joining. The section is still very new and it was wonderful that so many members also volunteered to man the stand during the three days of the show.

“We are also grateful to ASHRAE member Jim McPhun of BJA who stepped in at the last minute and supplied the display for the stand.”

Over the course of the three days, a significant number expressed an interest in the group and left their details on the stand.

ASHRAE member Mick Holland, also delivered a presentation on The relative energy efficiencies of active chilled beams and fan coil unit systems at the show, which was very well attended. He will repeat this talk as an evening paper for the section later in the year.

Steve added: “We are really grateful to ACR News and Datateam for allowing us to have a stand, and absolutely delighted by the response from those we met at the show.”

The next ASHRAE UK Midlands Section meeting will be held on 26 April in Loughborough.
