A €10.000 Euro award will be granted for the most innovative energy saving concept or system in air conditioning/ refrigeration and the Association of European Refrigeration Component Manufacturers (ASERCOM) is once again sponsoring the award.
Applicants must present a new concept which is technically feasible and economically viable to get a chance of winning the ASERCOM Energy Efficiency Award 2010.
An panel of technical experts will evaluate the applications.
A spokesman for ASERCOM said: 'Over the lifetime of refrigeration and air conditioning systems, energy consumption makes a greater contribution to the production of greenhouse gases than HFC refrigerant direct emissions. In Europe, for example, such systems account for approximately 14% of the overall power consumption. Hence, efficiency improvement is our industry's primary responsibility in the reduction of emissions'.
