ASERCOM and EPEE push Europe’s energy goals at Chillventa

ASERCOM (the Association of European Refrigeration Component Manufacturers) and EPEE (the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment) jointly organised two events and shared a stand at Chillventa this year to discuss the role of the HVACR sector in Europe’s energy framework.

ASERCOM (the Association of European Refrigeration Component Manufacturers) and EPEE (the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment) jointly organised two events and shared a stand at Chillventa this year to discuss the role of the HVACR sector in Europe’s energy framework.

The ASERCOM-EPEE Symposium on 10 October marked the start of this collaboration by providing the opportunity to learn about the latest energy efficiency initiatives in the HVACR sector, the impact of the new F-Gas rules and the important and ongoing issue of market surveillance.

EPEE director general Andrea Voigt said: “The HVACR sector can contribute in many ways to the European climate and energy goals: energy efficiency, heat pumps, the cold chain and the transition towards lower GWP refrigerants all play a key role. These are our EPEE priorities and tools such as the Gapometer, which shows a roadmap on how to achieve the phase down in Europe, our ASERCOM-EPEE symposium at Chillventa or our upcoming event EUREKA 2016 in December this year are just some examples of our activities to showcase the potential of our industry and to represent its interests towards policy makers.”

ASERCOM president Claude Blanc added: “Improving energy efficiency within the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, supporting the F-Gas phase down, creating a better understanding of and adherence to safety regulation, promoting worldwide harmonisation of component standards and regulations are the main tasks of our ASERCOM European Association.”

EPEE and ASERCOM members had an opportunity to discuss in a more informal setting the current and future challenges for the HVACR sector during a breakfast organised on 12 October.

Finally, both teams managed an information booth to answer any question Chillventa participants had on our associations’ priorities, the current and future challenges for the HVACR sector, and the impact of legislative and regulatory developments.
