Artus Air gains EPD accreditations across its heating and cooling solutions

Artus Air has obtained independent Environmental Product Declaration verification for its AR60 and AR75 products.

An Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is an independent certification that assesses a product’s environmental impact throughout its life cycle. For mechanical products, this verification is complex but serves to prove a company’s environmental credentials for customers, developers, and regulators. Artus Air's EPD was conducted and verified by Ocker Environmental using OneClickLCA software.

As part of the company-wide strategy to reduce carbon in its product design, manufacturing and operational requirements, Artus Air has nominated a dedicated Carbon Champion to lead the company’s Net-Zero roadmap, carbon research and development, and supply chain optimisation.  This solutions-led approach is already helping projects meet their BREEAM, EPC, NABERS and LEED targets.

Roger Olsen, Artus Founding Fellow and inventor, commented: “My motivation for inventing Artus was to solve one of society’s greatest challenges: to reduce the amount of energy we all consume. Our sustainability ambitions are in line with the Paris Agreement, and innovation is the key to significantly reducing whole life carbon in the built environment.  Our EPD accreditation proves we are delivering on our design ambition in plain sight of the whole industry; I am very proud to be able to say that.”

Rebecca Stewart, Artus Air CEO, commented: “Using less materials for more performance delivers our goal for easy adoption of lower carbon solutions. Roger has eked out a huge amount of cooling from the assembled components we use, and this is proving to have extraordinary potential in many markets.  We believe this independent EPD verification gives our customers who are committed to addressing carbon in their buildings the confidence they need in carbon data reporting.”

Alex Hilton, Artus Air Carbon Champion and Development Engineer, said: “Over the past two years, we have assessed our supply chain, manufacturing processes and logistics. The resulting EPDs provide a level of accurate and transparent data to our customers to make more informed design decisions and establish a clear product roadmap to improve our carbon credentials even further.  Through informed product enhancement, more educated component material selection, a commitment to modular, and ultimately circular, design and a focus on our supply chain and logistics we will maintain our dedication to excellence in innovation for tangible impact.”
