Airedale International has now officially established its gateway to the Middle East following a launch event at its Dubai Airport Freezone office on 19 February.

The event, which follows on from the opening of Airedale's base in Moscow last year, was attended by more than 40 key customers and international business partners from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and further afield, who were joined by Karen Williams, Deputy Director of UKTI (UK Trade & Investment) at the British Embassy Dubai.

With the 2022 World Cup to be held in Qatar and Dubai named as the venue for the 2020 World Expo, the third largest global event, anticipated spending on infrastructure of around US$150 billion over the coming years is expected to start an era of significant economic growth in the Middle East.

Airedale's managing director, Clive Parkman, who opened the day's events, said: 'We were delighted to be able to welcome so many of our partners from the region and to pool our ideas about the considerable business opportunities that exist in the area. The significant investment that the region will see over the next few years will have a very positive impact on Airedale's business, as we are called on to design and supply cooling systems to support data centre, communications and other infrastructure needs as the region scales up to meet increasing demand.'

He continued: 'The timing is perfect and will play a major role in helping us achieve our significant growth plans and cement our position within the global marketplace.'

According to Andrew Walker, Middle East regional manager: 'The event was very well received. In particular, our CIBSE accredited business-critical cooling master class on data centre and process cooling. By using CFD modelling and data collected from actual sites, we were able to demonstrate that, even in elevated temperatures, opportunities exist to maximise energy saving opportunities for minimum footprint.'

Amongst the other items on the agenda were presentations from Steve Dicks, business development director (Commercial Products Group) at Airedale's parent company, Modine, a global leader in thermal management technology solutions with 2013 fiscal revenues of US$1.4 billion and 6,600 employees worldwide.
